• You are responsible for shaping and continuously evolving Jumbo’s Front End Platform. You operate as a senior individual contributor, working at Tech Lead / Staff Engineer / Solution Architect level, without having formal people management responsibilities. You provide technical direction across teams, guard architectural consistency and improve developer experience. You understand the bigger picture of Jumbo’s digital ecosystem and translate that into concrete technical choices that work at scale.

• We aim to build a robust, scalable and future-proof front-end platform that supports Jumbo’s digital ecosystem. This platform enables teams to build mobile-first, web-based applications that are highly visible and used daily by millions of customers and tens of thousands of colleagues. Your contribution ensures that teams can move fast while maintaining quality, stability and long-term maintainability.

• You work within the Front End Platform domain, where multiple teams collaborate on shared front-end capabilities. This domain is part of Jumbo’s broader Platform Engineering landscape and provides the foundation on which many product and domain teams build their applications.
• You work closely with front-end engineers, backend engineers, UX designers, product owners and platform engineers. You also collaborate with other senior technical leaders to align architectural decisions across domains and ensure solutions fit within Jumbo’s broader cloud and platform landscape.

As Tech Lead Front End Platform, you are responsible for defining and evolving the technical vision of Jumbo’s Front End Platform. You ensure the platform supports both current and future business needs and remains scalable, secure and maintainable.

You combine hands-on technical involvement with architectural oversight. You work closely with engineers and product owners, contribute to platform strategy and bring clear ideas on how software development should be organised at scale — balancing team autonomy, shared standards and delivery speed.

Your key responsibilities:

• Define and guard the technical vision and architecture of the Front End Platform.
• Enable teams to build scalable, secure and high-performing web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (for example Vue.js / Nuxt).
• Act as a senior-level technical sparring partner for engineers, product owners and stakeholders.
• Drive improvements in developer experience, CI/CD pipelines and platform tooling.
• Establish and maintain platform standards, patterns and best practices across teams.
• Contribute hands-on to complex technical challenges and core platform components when needed.
• Ensure seamless integration between front-end solutions, backend services and cloud platforms.
• Bring direction and ideas on how development should be organised in a large-scale platform environment.

• Extensive experience as a senior-senior software engineer, operating at Tech Lead, Staff Engineer or Solution Architect level.
• Deep experience with modern JavaScript frameworks — such as Vue.js / Nuxt — in large-scale, shared platform environments.
• Strong background in platform engineering, cloud platforms and CI/CD.
• Ability to understand complex systems and think in end-to-end solutions.
• Clear technical vision combined with the ability to influence without formal authority.
• A hands-on mindset paired with architectural thinking and a strong focus on enabling others.

• A gross salary between €5.700 – €7.300 per month (based on 40 hours).
• An annual bonus of max 10% of your annual salary, based on organizational goals.
