Job description

Working with and for a smile
Jumbo's ambition is to be the most customer-oriented company. We aim to surprise our customers and exceed expectations so they enjoy shopping with us. With over 700 stores in the Netherlands and Belgium, the option to have groceries delivered via jumbo.com, our own distribution centers, and office colleagues, we work together every day to achieve this ambition. Collaborating to win over the customer is what drives us at Jumbo.

Get started! This is what you'll do
In your role, you promote a culture where "Continuous Improvement" is central. You ensure open, transparent communication and support a healthy work-life balance. The core values of the Jumbo DNA – Together, Winning, and Entrepreneurship – are key in this.

An important part of your job is the support you provide in the development of your team members. By conducting regular one-on-one meetings, giving constructive feedback, and linking this to a development plan, you help shape this process.

In addition to coaching, you are also responsible for recruiting the right people, monitoring the quality, cost, and stability of delivered platforms and software. You ensure that your teams take full ownership of their implementations.

"You build it, you run it, you own it!"

Your workday as an Engineering Manager SAP SCM at Jumbo
08:00 – 08:30 Respond to daily emails.

08:30 – 09:00 Reflect on the past week with the lead engineering counterpart, discuss priorities, and divide the work.

09:00 – 09:30 Join team stand-ups to stay connected and help resolve bottlenecks.

10:00 – 10:30 1-on-1 meeting with an engineer to discuss growth and development.

11:00 – 12:00 Review the latest performance data and discuss improvements to the SAP environments with the Platform Engineer and SDM.

12:00 – 13:00 Lunch & coffee with the team.

13:00 – 14:00 Weekly alignment with the OPS chapter on sustainable solutions to reduce OPS activities.

14:30 – 15:30 Meeting with business stakeholders about stability and performance.

15:30 – 16:30 Management Team meeting on domain initiatives, challenges, budget, FTE, and progress in areas such as Security, OPS SLA, and stability initiatives.

16:30 – 17:00 Wrap up the day, respond to important messages, and make plans for tomorrow.

Together, we are Jumbo: Where you'll work
You lead 2 teams consisting of a total of 17 colleagues, mainly SAP Consultants and SAP Developers. One team is working on the transition from ECC to S/4 for all store processes. The other team focuses primarily on forecasting & replenishment systems, ensuring that there is always sufficient stock in the right place across the supply chain. In addition, you are closely involved with the ‘OPS chapter’ within the SCM domain.

Profile

At Jumbo, we are looking for go-getters, people with good ideas and the courage to work together on them. We care for each other: our customers, colleagues, and the world around us, and we want to do a little better every day. All our (future) colleagues bring a healthy dose of Jumbo DNA with them, and so do you! Additionally, you have:

  • At least 7 years of experience in managing teams and leading senior engineers.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate, and guide teams, and support team members in their professional development.
  • Subject-matter expertise in SAP, preferably within supply chain.
  • Problem-solving skills. You make things possible for the customer. "Can't be done? Yes, it can!"

We offer

At Jumbo, you will find a working environment with warmth, fun, and attention to each other, where you have plenty of room to contribute to our ambition to become the most customer-oriented company. And just as you are there for our customers, we are there for you. You can count on:

  • A gross salary between €5.700 - €7.300 per month (based on 40 hours).
  • An annual bonus of max 10% of your annual salary, based on organizational goals.
  • 30 days of paid holiday (with the opportunity to buy or sell days of paid holiday) and 8% holiday allowance.
  • You build up a pension through participation in the Pension Fund for the Food Industry.
  • A(n) (electric) lease car. We like to work together in the office, but you can also work partly from home.
  • Room for entrepreneurship, growth and development. Not only in your job but also through our Jumbo Academy, online training through GoodHabitz and with a training budget.
  • Daily fresh lunch in our Foodcafé, good coffee and fresh fruit. You can sport daily at our own Jumbo Gym for a small fee.
  • Colleague discounts such as 10% off your groceries (up to €325 per year), participation in our collective health insurance or discounts through Beneftits at Work.
