Get started! This is what you'll do
Jumbo has transitioned from developing native apps to offering all customer-facing features through a fully web-based ecosystem, powered by Jumbo’s Frontend Platform. As a Staff Engineer, you will shape the technical direction of this platform and work hands-on with the Platform Engineers. The main technologies used by this team include Vue, Nuxt, NodeJS, and AEM, with Datadog employed for observability.

Your Workday as a Staff Engineer at Jumbo:

09:00 – 09:15: Join a stand-up meeting with one of the platform teams to address pipeline performance issues.

09:45 – 10:30: Align with the Product Owner on the OKRs for the next quarter.

10:30 – 11:00: Complete the last story for the OTA mechanism.

11:00 – 12:00: Present new security improvements for platform components at the Frontend chapter meeting.

12:00 – 13:00: Enjoy lunch with colleagues at our Food Café, followed by a short walk.

13:00 – 14:00: Document new platform FAQs and guidelines.

14:00 – 15:00: Communicate the setup of the automated testing infrastructure on Slack, ready for use by business-aligned DevOps teams.

15:00 – 17:00: Assist a platform engineer in setting up a proof of concept for a new CI/CD implementation.

Where you will work:
You will be part of the Frontend Platform team, which consists of 10 engineers, each with their own skill set, such as frontend engineering, backend engineering, and UX. These are some of your responsibilities within the team:

• Regularly code (preferably pair programming) to stay connected with engineers and solutions.
• Assist teams in making the right architectural decisions, simplifying where possible, and ensuring a business-focused approach.
• Facilitate alignment between teams to execute plans and work towards shared goals.
• Lead initiatives to enhance learning cycles and promote knowledge sharing across the entire department.
• Encourage innovation through experimentation.

• At least 10 years of experience in software development
• Extensive knowledge across multiple development environments, including Frontend, Backend, Cloud, and Platform Engineering.
• Proven ability to foster the personal growth of fellow engineers through effective coaching
• A collaborative mindset that ensures decisions are made collectively, creating buy-in.

• A gross salary between €5.700 - €7.300 per month (based on 40 hours).
• An annual bonus of max 10% of your annual salary, based on organizational goals.
