Job description

Working with and for a smile

To be the most loved supermarket in the Netherlands and Belgium — that’s our ambition. We want to surprise our customers and exceed their expectations, so that shopping with us is always a joyful experience. With over 700 stores, the option to have groceries delivered via jumbo.com, our own distribution centers, and our dedicated office colleagues, we work every day to achieve that goal. Collaborating to win over the customer — that’s what drives us at Jumbo.

Get started! This is what you’ll do

At Jumbo, we want to inspire our customers every day — whether they shop online, visit our stores, explore our food markets, or enjoy our restaurants. Our mission is to support them at every step of their journey, build lasting loyalty, and turn customers into passionate fans.

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you play a key role in realizing Jumbo’s digital ambitions. Together with the .NET team, you take on a wide range of responsibilities — from designing and developing to maintaining and improving our systems.

You’ll work closely with business stakeholders and fellow developers to ensure that our products meet the high standards of quality and performance we uphold at Jumbo. Your ability to adapt to the latest technologies, think ahead, and continuously improve makes you an invaluable part of our team.

Together, we are Jumbo: This is where you’ll work

No two days at Jumbo are the same. Things move fast, and we’re constantly looking for ways to do better — for our customers and for each other. We encourage you to spot opportunities, take initiative, and actively contribute to our shared goals. You’ll work in an informal and energetic environment with room for your own ideas, humor, fun, and of course, a strong dose of Jumbo DNA. Collaborating to win over the customer — that’s what we do it for.

We are a close team of seven colleagues with a broad set of skills, supported by a Scrum Master and a Product Owner. Together, we are part of the broader Customer & Assortment department. We believe in creating state-of-the-art solutions in everything we do. We achieve this through our shared passion for getting the best out of the latest technologies (including AI), by applying Agile and DevOps best practices, and by constantly challenging the status quo.

We are proud to work with modern technologies such as .NET 9, Azure, Blazor, microservices, and advanced design patterns — delivering high-value solutions and celebrating success together.

Profile

At Jumbo, we’re looking for go-getters — people with great ideas and the courage to put them into action. We care about each other: our customers, our colleagues, and the world around us. Every day, we strive to do things just a little better. All our (future) colleagues bring a healthy dose of Jumbo DNA with them — and so do you!

In addition, you bring the following:

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a .NET Developer
  • Experience with .NET 8 or 9, Web API, Microservices, and Azure (Web Apps, Functions, SQL)
  • Experience or strong knowledge of architectural patterns such as MVVM, CQRS, and Mediator (e.g., MediatR)
  • Professional experience with Blazor
  • A passion for writing clean, maintainable, and testable code following SOLID principles
  • Experience with GitHub or Azure DevOps, and knowledge of unit testing and end-to-end testing
  • Experience working in Scrum/Agile/DevOps environments and collaborating across teams
  • Excellent command of the English language

With this knowledge, you’ll be able to contribute to projects like the development of our Loyalty Manager application, which supports the Jumbo Extra’s loyalty program and ensures that our customers always benefit from the best deals.

We’re also developing an application for our procurement department, enabling colleagues to efficiently manage supplier contracts and further optimize collaboration with our partners.

These are just two examples of the innovative and business-critical applications you’ll help build together with your team — using the modern technologies mentioned above.

We offer

At Jumbo, you’ll find a work environment with warmth, enjoyment, and attention for each other. Where you have plenty of room to contribute to our ambition of becoming the most customer-oriented company. Just as you’re there for our customers, we’re there for you. Additionally, you’ll receive:

  • A gross salary between €5.600 - €7.300 per month (based on 40 hours).
  • An annual bonus of max 7,5% of your annual salary, based on organizational goals.
  • 30 days of paid holiday (with the opportunity to buy or sell days of paid holiday) and 8% holiday allowance. You build up a pension through participation in the Pension Fund for the Food Industry.
  • An allowance for your travel expenses (€ 0.21 cents per kilometer with a maximum of 35 kilometers one way). We like to work together in the office, but you can also work partly from home.
  • Room for entrepreneurship, growth and development. Not only in your job but also through our Jumbo Academy, online training through GoodHabitz and with a training budget.
  • Daily fresh lunch in our Foodcafé, good coffee and fresh fruit. You can sport daily at our own Jumbo Gym for a small fee.
  • Colleague discounts such as 10% off your groceries (up to €325 per year), participation in our collective health insurance or discounts through Benefits at Work.
