Let’s get to work! This is what you’ll do

We are currently building a new team. This team was created based on a business case to further develop personalized promotions. As a Data Engineer in this team, you will help rebuild the data pipeline from scratch, while the current solution continues to run in the background. This includes redesigning the calculations needed to execute promotions at scale.

As a Data Engineer at Jumbo, you will design, build and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure. You ensure that data from various sources becomes available in a reliable and scalable way for our analysts, data scientists and products. You’ll work closely with other teams to make data accessible and usable, directly contributing to data-driven innovation within Jumbo.

We will start building this year, aiming for a go-live in June 2026. All the required data is available internally, so we are not dependent on external providers. After this project, there is a good chance that you will move to another team within Jumbo, where you will work on a specific product or within a particular domain.

The team will consist of at least one Product Owner, three Data Engineers and two Data Scientists. As a Data Engineer, you’ll be part of the broader Customer & Assortment department.

Typically you

In addition, you bring the following:

• At least 8 years of experience in data engineering or software development
• A very high level of data literacy
• Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines
• Strong communication skills, a design-driven mindset, and business acumen

Preferably, experience with tools and technologies such as Python, PySpark, Databricks, AWS or Azure, and ML Ops. Experience with Java programming is a nice plus.

• An annual bonus of up to 7.5% of your annual salary, based on company performance
