Get started! This is what you’ll do
We’re looking for a Security Consultant who not only advises but also takes a hands-on approach to improving our security services. Within Jumbo’s security team, you’ll work on protecting millions of customer records and business-critical systems in a complex, fast-changing digital environment.

You’ll collaborate with experts in cyber resilience, monitoring & detection, and incident response, where innovation and teamwork take center stage. With a hands-on mindset and strategic insight, you’ll directly contribute to the digital safety of one of the largest retailers in the Netherlands.

Your responsibilities include:

• Optimizing and managing security services such as security monitoring, vulnerability management, pentesting, and risk assessments.
• Planning and prioritizing improvements through a clear backlog in collaboration with the Security Manager.
• Analyzing and adjusting based on the effectiveness of security products.
• Coordinating pentests, responsible disclosure, and vulnerability management.
• Providing strategic input for Jumbo’s Cyber Security Roadmap.

Teamwork is at the heart of everything we do. You’ll be part of the Jumbo Security Team, working closely with the Security Managers and the CISO. It’s a relatively small team, which means you’ll play a key role and have plenty of room to bring your vision on cybersecurity to life.

In your role, you’ll collaborate closely with our external security partners and internal (IT) teams to ensure that all services are seamlessly integrated into our organization.

• A completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Preferably 5+ years of experience in Cyber Security (we also welcome other profiles that bring a fresh perspective on cybersecurity).
• Knowledge and experience with security processes and services (such as Security Monitoring, Vulnerability Management, and Incident Response).
• A hands-on mentality, ensuring that security products are not only operational but continuously add value to our organization.
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with external suppliers, security, and operational teams.
• Technical security knowledge is a plus but not a requirement — the technical aspects are handled by our specialized service providers (e.g., Pentesting and Security Monitoring).

• A gross monthly salary between €4,300 and €5,400 (based on 40 hours per week).
• An annual bonus of up to 5% of your yearly salary, based on company objectives.
• 30 vacation days (with the option to buy or sell days) and 8% holiday pay. You’ll also build a pension through participation in the Industry Pension Fund for the Food Sector.
• Travel allowance (€0.21 per kilometer, up to 35 km one way). We enjoy working together in the office, but you can also work partly from home.
