As a Competence Architect, you play an important role in this. You ensure that our data solutions are future-proof. Think of building a smart, efficient, and powerful data landscape that enables us to serve our customers even better.

How do you do that? By setting a clear vision—and making sure that this vision is actually brought to life. You help our IT organization embrace smart technologies and roll up your sleeves for innovations that make a real difference. In doing so, you work closely with product managers and engineering managers—according to our “three-in-a-box” principle—to make the right decisions together.

As a Competence Architect, you are the expert overseeing the entire lifecycle of our data. You deal with questions such as:

How do we store our master data so that it is easily scalable and usable across the entire company?

• How do we collect transactional and analytical data in the right way?
• How do we ensure that everyone has secure access to the data they need—and that we can track exactly where the data comes from?
• How do we build a clear Jumbo Data Model and ensure strong data governance rules?
• And how do we make self-service BI and analytics as convenient and efficient as possible for our colleagues?
• With your knowledge and vision, you help Jumbo work even smarter—so we can keep delighting our customers a little more every day.

As a Competence Architect, you’ll be part of our friendly and driven “Architecture family” at Jumbo. Domain architects focus on specific business domains and ensure the best IT solutions are organized within those areas. You, as a Competence Architect, look across those domains from your area of expertise – Data - and identify opportunities to develop smart, reusable tools and solutions. Together, we ensure that Jumbo continues to grow and innovate with pride and enjoyment.

• Courage and flexibility: you thrive in a dynamic environment with complex processes and systems.
• A solid education and professional background in data-related topics. You likely hold at least a university degree (WO level) and have at least 7 years of relevant experience.

• A gross salary between €5.700 - €7.300 per month (based on 40 hours).
• An annual bonus of max 10% of your annual salary, based on organizational goals.
• 30 days of paid holiday (with the opportunity to buy or sell days of paid holiday) and 8% holiday allowance.
• You build up a pension through participation in the Pension Fund for the Food Industry.
• An (electric) lease car. We enjoy working together at the office, but you can also work partly from home.
