Summary

  • As a Full Stack Typescript Engineer within the Customer & Assortment domain, you ensure that critical master data is available wherever Jumbo needs it. You build and maintain reliable, scalable, and high-performing microservices and data solutions, enabling both colleagues and customers to always rely on accurate information.
  • Jumbo aims to be the most loved supermarket in the Netherlands and Belgium. Reliable and accessible data is essential to achieving this ambition. By making the right data available at the right time, you help colleagues work smarter and improve the customer experience.
  • You will join an agile team within the Customer & Assortment domain. Together, you develop smart solutions for assortment and master data processes, ensuring data is easy to access, reliable, and widely available across Jumbo.
  • You work closely with business specialists, other IT teams, tech leads, and architects. In addition, you are part of the broader Jumbo tech community, where knowledge sharing and continuous improvement are key.

Job description

At Jumbo, we're making grocery shopping easier, smarter, and more enjoyable. As a Full Stack Typescript Engineer, you play an important role in that mission. You translate new insights and business needs into solutions that simplify and accelerate processes without compromising quality or stability. In doing so, you improve the systems behind the scenes and contribute to a seamless customer experience.

You will work within the Customer & Assortment IT domain, as part of a team of seven colleagues and a Product Owner. The team focuses on assortment solutions and making master data available across the organization. Because many teams depend on the data and services you build, you'll have a broad network throughout Jumbo.

No two days are the same. One moment, you'll be diving into data flows and business processes to identify bottlenecks. The next, you'll be collaborating on new solutions or helping teams integrate with one of your microservices.

By ensuring that the right data is available in critical business processes, you make everyday work easier for colleagues across Jumbo.

Profile

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience as a Developer with AWS cloud engineering.
  • Experience with full-stack development, including backend and frontend development using Express.js/Node.js, as well as database engineering to optimize database usage, minimize queries, and improve table performance.
  • Experience with Terraform modules (networking, compute, storage, and CI/CD pipelines), GitHub Actions (automated testing, security scanning, and deployments), and Node.js services written in TypeScript running on AWS Lambda, ECS/Fargate, and EKS.
  • Experience with CloudWatch and Datadog for monitoring and observability.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security for both infrastructure and microservices, including best practices around IAM policies, VPC design, and security groups.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
