In your role, you promote a culture where "Continuous Improvement" is central. You ensure open, transparent communication and support a healthy work-life balance. The core values of the Jumbo DNA – Together, Winning, and Entrepreneurship – are key in this.

An important part of your job is the support you provide in the development of your team members. By conducting regular one-on-one meetings, giving constructive feedback, and linking this to a development plan, you help shape this process.

In addition to coaching, you are also responsible for recruiting the right people, monitoring the quality, cost, and stability of delivered platforms and software. You ensure that your teams take full ownership of their implementations.

Your workday as an Engineering Manager Store Domain at Jumbo
08:00 – 09:00 | Start of the Day & Inbox Zero.
You read your emails, Slack, Teams messages, and incident reports. You scan for escalations, blockers, or urgent approvals.

09:00 – 10:00 | Daily Stand-up Rotation.
Stand-ups with various teams. Each stand-up focuses on blockers, cross-team issues, or delivery risks.

10:00 – 11:00 | External Meetings (Partners & Third Parties).
Alignment on project status, blockers, and dependencies. You make agreements on timelines, approvals, and resource allocation.

11:00 – 12:00 | 1-on-1 Meeting with a Team Member.

12:00 – 13:00 | Lunch.

13:00 – 13:30 | Invoice Approval & Budget Control.
You approve invoices from external parties and check whether expenses align with the quarterly forecast.

13:30 – 14:30 | Team Triage & Planning Support.
You support capacity changes and long-term CAP planning. You review the status of integrations with third parties and discuss test strategies and approvals.

14:00 – 15:00 | 1-on-1 Meeting with a Team Member.

16:00 – 16:30 | Strategic Project Checkpoints.
Progress monitoring of ongoing (cross-team) projects, review of statistics, KPIs, and milestones. You identify and mitigate risks.

16:30 – 17:00 | End of Day Wrap-up.

Together, we are Jumbo: Where you'll work
You lead 5 teams consisting of a total of 24 colleagues, and indirectly manage around 50 external colleagues. They primarily work on all hardware and software in our stores.

• At least 10 years of experience in managing teams and leading senior engineers.
• The ability to inspire, motivate, and guide teams, and support team members in their professional development.
• A development background. You are a true engineer at heart. 
• Problem-solving skills. You make things possible for the customer. "Can't be done? Yes, it can!"

• A gross salary between €5.700 - €8.000 per month (based on 40 hours).
• An annual bonus of max 10% of your annual salary, based on organizational goals.
• 30 days of paid holiday (with the opportunity to buy or sell days of paid holiday) and 8% holiday allowance.
• You build up a pension through participation in the Pension Fund for the Food Industry.
• A(n) (electric) lease car. We like to work together in the office, but you can also work partly from home.
